Sergio Gutierrez Father of Liquid Metal Jewelry
Sergio Gutierrez, father, or "God" as we at Studio Nouveau know him, of Liquid Metal Jewelry, was born in Columbia in 1965.
With a pleathora of exciting designs ever-flowing from his beautiful head, the world is graced by Sergio's sensuous metal mesh jewelry and fashions.
Sergio took his studies in electronics engineering to dimensions those engineers never imagined! In 1991, he moved to San Francisco, California, where he began research and experimention with meticulously soldered, nickel plated ball chain. It was there that he gave life and form to the unique Liquid Metal Mesh Jewelry and Accessories, which he later patented.
His collections include:
- Classic Collection; These are stone-less, cuff-like bracelet, necklace, choker, earring, and ring designs.. They range from dainty, feminine works, to extravagant lace up chokers and wide bracelets.
- Liquid Roots, which are earthy, root-like forms which organically wrap themselves around colorful Swarovsky crystals. These are spectacular at pieces, full of personality.
- Liquid Microchip: In 2003, Sergio began taking electronic circuitry, which he altered to resemble intricate decorative elements, and imbedded them into his jewelry and fashions. He fondly refers to them as "Skeletons of today's inside technology".
- Golden Series: Most recently, Sergio began offering his 24K antique gold plated jewelry.
