Olivia ~ A Liquid Metal Necklace Once upon a time, I met a baby girl named Olivia who lived by the sea.

She grew to be a tall, slender and lovely young lady, whose beauty is centered in a calm sense of peace. In her dark skinned complexion, one can recognize Olivia’s Cherokee heritage, whose strong, interesting features compliment her assertive, forthright disposition; the perfect disposition for an avid storyteller, which Olivia is.
Her fascination with characters and the passion with which she expresses them is contagious. Although she has many interests, Olivia will likely become a great writer. She began her storytelling as a toddler, drawing out pictures of her inner-workings before she could even talk. It certainly doesn’t hurt that both her parents are highly skilled, professional artists, who encouraged and saw in her, great talent.

Olivia’s incredible brown hair is so long it became a legend. She wowed the boys at her first dance, when she unleashed it and let it fly. The kind of people who follow this unusual blend of tastes, time after time, back into our store, are often the artists, eccentric types, and epicurians. As they are popping a sample into their mouths they always say, "Oh it's not hot at all...oh wait a minute...now I'm beginning to feel a little heat in the back of my throat!" We have these chocolates handmade with just the right amount of spice, so that the average person's palette can handle the spice. Some delicate palettes find them sizzling however.

They are great with a glass of port, with an apple and cheese, or one their own. The combination of sweet chewy caramel, with the distinct chocolate powder roll and then the final Jamaican spice blend dusting the top is like no other candy we have ever tasted. Yes, we've been known to binge on them...regularly!

Czech Glass Lariate Our most versatile piece of jewelry, the Czech Glass Lariat, can be worn in about 15 different ways. These faceted Czech glass beads have a very 20's feel to us. Their glossy finish glints ever so subtly, catching the eye to behold the lovely turquoise color. Accented with a silver Bali lantern bead.

By the way, turquoise is considered the universal color...which everyone looks good in. This locally designed and made lariat, is strung on copper colored silk cord and each bead is knotted. I Belong I was standing on a ladder, washing my window when he walked into Studio Nouveau.
His silver hair was pony-tailed back. He wore Ray Bans...inside the store! Of course one cannot help but wonder if the guy was practicing mystery...perhaps he had a hangover? About a half hour latter, he came out. I was already enchanted...and still am!

His eyes are a soft brown that
has seen a lot, and synthesized that lot into an arsenal of fabulous stories I apparently
have a deficit of.

We spoke of everything from hunting a boar with rifle vs. bow and arrow, to a paper he wrote as a youth on Spinster English, to the lack of bolo-ties in Texas. I even taught him the fine art of eating an exotic chocolate bar. He seemed to like that!

Now, I can't get his voice out of my head...nor John Denver's "I belong...in West Virginia..." Indeed, that is where this anomaly in these parts originated. And so I count the minutes when I will be blessed by another visit from James.

Made in Italy, of Antique brass, this horse clock is something you might see in West Virginia. With its stallion atop a mountain...surly in Appalachia, what a great way to hold the time.

The Chain ~ A Liquid Metal Necklace Sergio took his notorious soldered ball chain process somewhere entirly different for this one; creating long, flexible beads in the shape of soft edged rectangles. He linked them together into a seemingly never ending chain that has so many possibilities, it is remarkable!

Flora ~ A Liquid Metal Bracelet Flora, the Roman Goddess of flowers and the season of spring, was also one of the several fertility Goddesses.

Her festival, the Floralia, was held in April or early May and symbolized the renewal of the cycle of life, marked with dancing, drinking, and flowers.

Flora was married to Favonius the wind god, and her companion was Hercules. Due to her association with plants, her name in modern English also means plant life.

Flora, a Liquid Metal Snake bracelet, was designed by Sergio Gutierrez, the famous Colombian born artist. This unusual and lovely flower of snakes has a Swarovski center jewel.
