"I live with him", she wrote... "He is much like Tarzan in character, spending most of his time on the land, amidst the birds and elements. His hands are brown from toiling the earth. He runs like a mountain lion, with passion and purpose filling his lungs so fully, the wind heats them. He flies past my windows so that I catch only glimpses of his tall, tanned body. His beard is mountainous. His eyes are the trees. His labor is home.
When he feels my approach, Gabriel withdraws, crouching behind trees. I feel his presence, constantly, and intensely. A couple of years ago, I reached out to him, seeking to connect. I must have pushed too hard. Perhaps my curiosity broke his trust, I do not know. My mountain man slid back into reclusive shadows. At first I felt offended by his behavior, and then something came to me:
In our last life together, I did something (which I don’t now remember) to upset him so terribly, that he vowed silence for not only that life, but for the next one. Unfortunately, he is very stubborn and willful, and has stood by that vow. What he didn’t remember was that we are soul mates. Being such, he cannot control what happens in our dream time...which is where we now meet. More often than any other entity and quite often, Gabriel meets me in that dream world dimension. He’d forgotten what I mean to him when he made that vow, you see. He holds me sometimes... as he if he will never let me go. He reminds me that I am his life. And he says such things with a look. So much of our communication is gestural and telepathic. It is instinctual, and feels skin close to Mother earth, and so right; so correct...that I would forfeit, if I was able, speech...just to be with him.
Though I am whole, he is the missing part of me. It is his polar energy which fills me...and so quenches my psyche. And as I am telling this tale, I have just stumbled upon the story of a beautiful princess loved and visited by Cupid at night, who tells her she must not try to see him. She is Psyche, the personification of the soul!"
